This
monobasic tribe is difficult to place and may not be directly referable to the
Catocalinae in even the broadest sense. Particular features are mentioned in the
generic description below, but the clypeofrons appears to be fully scaled, the
scales forming a slight peak that contributes to the snouted appearance
generated by the labial palps. There is a pair of lobes between the first and
second tergites; these are triangular, broad but rather shallow. The male eighth
segment is modified, but atypical. The larva has all prolegs fully developed.
The placement therefore merits further study.
