Dordura Moore
Type
species: apicalis Moore
= aliena
Walker.
This
monobasic genus shows sexual dimorphism and shares, probably homoplasiously, a
dark brown trapezoidal mark on the forewing costa between the postmedial and
submarginal with taxa in the Parallelia /
Achaea
complex,
some species of Platyja Hübner, and Papuacola Hampson.
The postmedial and antemedial fasciae are doubled in the male but one component
is obscure in the female. The hindwing is less distinctly marked, with
fasciation evident only over the posterior half.
The male
abdomen has the eighth segment unmodified. The genitalia have both the tegumen
and the vinculum rather wide on each side, setose all over, the setae
lengthening towards the base. The valves are simple, triangular, without
processes, their saccular bases meeting centrally.
The
female has a very small but slightly scobinate bursa without a distinct ductus.
The ostium is situated between the seventh and eighth segments; there is no
sterigma.
