Diagnosis.
The grey forewings are more elongate than in Batracharta species,
and the tornus is not slightly falcate. The white spot set basally within a
black ellipse in the distal half of the grey is distinctive. The hindwings are a
paler, browner grey.
Geographical
range. India,
Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo, Sulawesi.
Habitat
preference. Bornean material is limited to single specimens from Brunei on
the coast at Seria and inland at Ulu Belait (60m), and from lowland forest in
the Barito Ulu of Kalimantan. Specimens of the new species from Sulawesi have
been taken at altitudes above 1000m.
