Diagnosis.
See the generic description. The forewings are a medium pinkish greybrown with
oblique dark postmedials and, on the forewings, a strongly stepped submarginal.
The hindwing submarginal is much more irregular, zig-zag, edged broadly basad by
a paler, more ochreous zig-zag band.
Taxonomic
note. Galsworthy (1997) commented on confusion (e.g. in Poole (1989))
between Thermesia decisa Walker
and Iluza
decisa Walker (see Ugia
Walker).
The taxon simplex Walker
is conspecific with the latter, not the former, and the former is conspecific
with fulgurea.
Geographical
range. N.E. Himalaya, Hainan, Thailand (VK), Sumatra, Java, Borneo.
Habitat
preference. Recent material consists of a female from Kretam on the coast
of Sabah and three males taken during the Mulu survey: from 150m in wet heath
forest; from 250m in dipterocarp forest on limestone (G. Api); from 1000m in
lower montane forest on G. Mulu.
