This
sequence contains genera where the species have some external resemblance to
those of the Scoliopterygini (p. 213) but lack the definitive features of that
tribe. They show no clear interrelationships either. All have a framed
corematous type of male eighth abdominal segment. Hyperlopha
has
similar facies but does not have this abdominal feature and is therefore treated
within sequence II (p. 210).
In the
first two genera (and Hyperlopha) the hindwing facies is uniform, unlike that of the
forewing, as in the Gonopterini, whereas in the rest, the forewing pattern is
repeated on the hindwing as in most of the Episparis group
of genera that follows. Many of that group have angled wing margins as in this
miscellaneous sequence.
