Cataloxia diagrapta Hampson
Cataloxia diagrapta Hampson,
1926, Descr. Gen.
Spec. Noctuinae:
295. Diagnosis.
See the generic description. The species resembles somewhat a small version of
the ennomine geometrid genus Ephemerophila
Warren, but this
has the discal marks black rather than paler.
Geographical range.
Borneo, Singapore (H.N. Ridley specimen).
Habitat preference.
The only Bornean specimens are the holotype from Sandakan on the coast of Sabah
and one from a Paraserianthes
falcataria plantation
in the lowlands of Sabah near Brumas. The second was a voucher for records of
‘Ophiderinae 5’ in Chey (1994) of three from this plantation type, two from Acacia
mangium plantation
and one from Pinus
caribaea plantation,
suggestive of a possible association with Leguminosae.
