Diagnosis.
See the generic description. The mauve-grey wings with rufous, rather lunulate
submarginal marks, edged intensely by a double black arc and containing white
wedges, are unmistakable.
Geographical
range. Thailand (VK), Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, Sulawesi.
Habitat
preference. The species is rare, five specimens being from lowland
localities, all forested: one from alluvial forest at 70m in the G. Mulu
National Park; three from 300m in the Ulu Temburong of Brunei; one from the
Segama river in the vicinity of the Danum Valley Field Centre in Sabah. However,
there is a fifth specimen from 1618m on Bukit Retak.
