Diagnosis.

and the two species below. The ground colour of this and the next three species
is browner, but with a slightly bluish tint to the postmedial, particularly in
the paler central line separating the two dark components. This double fascia on
the hindwing is closely associated with the zig-zag submarginal in metagona
and
the next two species, but slightly more separated in the pannosa Moore group, where it also tends to
diverge away from it near the tornus due to the diagnostic curvature of the
double fascia. In pannosa and allies there is a diffusely paler lens on the
costa of the forewing that straddles across the postmedial at that point,
rendered conspicuous by the generally darker, richer brown ground; it is evident
to a lesser extent in metagona and
in the next two species.
Geographical
range. Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia, Nias, Java, Sulawesi.
Habitat
preference. All material with precise data is from forested areas in the
lowlands, though some include secondary forest.
