Pangrapta
lasiophora Hampson comb. n.
Hyposemansis
lasiophora Hampson, 1926, Descr. Gen. Spec. Noctuinae,
p. 558.
Diagnosis
and taxonomic note. See the previous species. As well as the similarities of facies,
the male genitalia also indicate a very close relationship to shivula
and
other Pangrapta
species,
hence lasiophora
is
transferred to Pangrapta,
and also the related P. mediopallens Wileman & West comb.
n. (Philippines).
Geographical
range. Borneo, Sumatra.
Habitat
preference. Apart from one male taken in a hut at over 1000m in moss forest
on G. Dulit, all material has been taken in lowland forest, where the species is
infrequent. During the Mulu survey, the only four specimens recorded were from
heath forest on a river terrace, though records from Brunei are mostly from hill
dipterocarp forest (Ulu Temburong, Labi).
