The
tribal characteristics are those of the type genus as described below. The
unusual form of the scaphium and the finely fasciated wings are distinctive. The
juxta is atypical of the core catocalines, but other features are consistent
with inclusion in the group. As indicated on p. 102, Fibiger (2003) associated
this group with the Pandesmini, noting they shared a long juxta, a prominent
process for the sacculus and a ventero-lateral projection of the vesica. The
female genitalia he considered to be very different in all four genera of his Zethes-Pericyma group. As in the Pandesmini, the larval host-plants
are Leguminosae.
