Diagnosis.
This is a large orange species with slightly violet brown suffusion covering
most of the wings. The forewing antemedial is straight, the postmedial
irregular, sinuous in course as in the much smaller type species of the next
genus. The reniform consists of two dark-centred pale discs that sometimes fuse
into a B-shape.
Geographical
range. N.E. Himalaya, S. China, Burma, Thailand (VK), Borneo, Sumatra.
Habitat
preference. The species is rare and montane, recorded (see also Martini
& Thöny, 1993) from 950m to 1930m.
