Arthisma
amisa Swinhoe comb. n.
Savara
amisa Swinhoe, 1906, Ann. Mag. nat. Hist. (7),
17: 549.
Diagnosis.
The wing shape and general facies are as in the previous two species, but the
forewing is much greyer and fasciated irregularly with black lunules
antemedially and postmedially.
Taxonomic
note. The species shares with other Arthisma
the
lobed hindwing and ciliate antennae in males. The fasciation of the forewing is
also consistent, and that on the underside of fore- and hindwings is dark and
relatively basal as in Arthisma compared with Savara.
Geographical
range. Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat
preference. The only Bornean specimen is from an area of 10 year old
regenerating alluvial forest on abandoned farmland near Long Pala at the foot of
G. Mulu.
