Sypna
anisomeris Prout
Sypna
anisomeris Prout, 1926, Sarawak Mus. J., 3: 234.
Sypna
anisomeris Prout; Holloway, 1976: 31.
Diagnosis. This and the next species both have the
elongate forewing reniform delineated paler; the submarginal also has a clearly
defined paler central section, though this is more angled in anisomeris. The hindwings
are significantly paler than the forewing and lack paler marginal marks towards
the apex; anisomeris is the only Bornean Sypna where these are
entirely absent.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. This species was also described
from G. Murud, but is frequent in upper montane forest at around 1780m on G.
Mulu and ranges from 1500m to 1930m on G. Kinabalu.
Biology. The species was reared from Lithocarpus
meijeri (Fagaceae) on G. Kinabalu by K.H.K. Li (A.C. Galsworthy, pers. comm.).
