rufipicta Hampson, 1926, Descr. Gen. Spec. Noctuinae, p. 591.
Diagnosis. This and the next species are similar,
but rufipicta has the markings and suffusion more black. The
hindwing medial is more irregular and picked out in much paler grey with black
basal to it. There is a similar series of arches in the area distal to it but
these enclose black and are separated from the fascia by red.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. The holotype male is from
lowland Sarawak (4th mile, Rock Rock). A
further male was collected at 150m in wet heath forest on a river terrace west
of the Melinau Gorge in the G. Mulu National Park.
