Diagnosis.
This species is browner and less ochreous than the next, and has the forewing postmedial running closer to the discal mark; the straighter more entire section of the postmedial that meets the costa is slightly concave distad. The hindwing postmedial is distinctly zigzag over its central part. These features are taken to associate the Bornean male with the females from the type locality; both sexes are known from Peninsular Malaysia. The dark brown mark associated with the forewing submarginal on the underside also tends to be weaker.

Taxonomic note. The genitalia of a Sulawesi male dissected (slide 19887) had the uncus longer and narrower than in the Bornean male, and the aedeagus vesica was more distinctly scobinate.

Geographical range. N.E. Himalaya, Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, Sangihe, Sulawesi.

Habitat preference. The only Bornean specimens are a male from disturbed alluvial forest at 70m near the foot of G. Mulu and a female from Pulo Laut, a low-lying island at the south east of Borneo.
