Diagnosis. This is a larger species than vexataria, the wings marked in blackish brown rather than pinkish grey with darker elements. The medial bands are of similar form to those of vexataria, but the area distal to this is more heavily suffused with brown, particularly in typical material from the Indian Subregion. The dark submarginal marks by the anterior concavity of the forewing margin loop away from it slightly rather than running parallel, and the narrow area between the submarginals and margins on all the wings is a more rufous brown. The male genitalia have the valves distinctly bifid, with a narrow costal process and a more tongue-like, curved tapering ventral process.
Geographical range. Sri Lanka, India, Borneo.
Habitat preference. The only Bornean specimen seen is from a Paraserianthes falcataria plantation near Brumas in the lowlands of Sabah.
