, 9-10mm. The forewings are brown and shades of grey-brown, narrower than in mediobrunnea and sabada, but similarly divided into a dark basal half and a paler distal half. The contrast between the two halves is more striking, with the distal half almost white at the junction with the basal half, particularly where it extends basad in a digitate projection that bisects the subdorsal angle of the darker basal half, and lines the dorsum posteriorly to the basal half. Towards the margin, and particularly the tornus, the distal half is irregularly shaded with a greyer tone, and this is concentrated also into a dark triangle on the costa. The hindwings are a pale fawn basally and grade darker to greyish brown at the margin; there is also a small dark grey discal lunule. The male antennae are ciliate. The male abdomen is typical of the genus though the thickening of the eighth tergite is restricted to a small central sclerite, somewhat triangular, that is separate from the apodemes. The valves of the genitalia are rather narrow as in nigribasis, with a similarly narrow, acute, subbasal saccular process.
