7mm. The facies is characteristic of the genus, but the forewings are slightly variegated a pale ochreous brown rather than blackish as in the vagalis group or a uniform yellow or yellowish brown as in the canaliferalis group. There are darker antemedial and submarginal fasciae. The central white fascia encloses a brown diamond in the discal area and has a kink subdorsally. The genitalia are characteristic of the genus. The valves are not apically bifid but have a small triangular process on the margin subapically as illustrated.

Holotype . Kuching, SARAWAK, 6.xi.1900 (R. Shelford), BM noctuid slide 20617. The left forewing is missing.

Taxonomic note. The description validates a manuscript name of Hampson.

Geographical range. Borneo.

Habitat preference. The type locality is a town on a river estuary.
