Detounda
Walker Gen. rev.
Type
species: spurcata
Walker, Borneo.
Synonym: Orthocraspis
Hampson (type species
rectimarginata
Hampson, Bhutan) syn. n.
Examination of the type species of this genus prompts the synonymy above and
below. Previously Detounda had been placed as a synonym of Selepa
Moore by Poole (1989), following the unpublished system in BMNH.
The species have facies as described below. The venation is similar to that of
Labanda.
The male abdomen is similar to that of Maceda above, as are the genitalia
except the costal process of the valve is erect rather than appressed.
The female has a long ductus that expands gradually to a globular bursa that is
densely but finely scobinate.
The type species of both
genus-group names occur in Sumatra (Kobes, 1997). The genus also includes D.
rectitermen
Wileman & West comb. n. (Philippines)
and D.
leptoplasta
Turner comb. n. (Australia). The placement of the latter requires further
investigation.
