Labanda
herbealis
Walker
Labanda herbealis Walker, 1859, List Specimens lepid. Insects Colln Br.
Mus., 17: 284.
Diagnosis. This is another species with green and black forewings, but with
a strongly but finely zig-zag course to the fasciae, particularly in the costal
zone. The postmedial and antemedial have greyish sections. In the male genitalia
the costal process of the valve is basally broad, but recurved and apically
pointed. The aedeagus vesica has two large cornuti and a number of smaller ones.
Geographical range. Sri Lanka, Borneo.
Habitat preference.
The only definite Bornean specimens are a male and
a female taken at 1790m in upper montane forest on G. Mulu, though a female
(slide 17466) from the lowland locality of Kuching (a Warren manuscript type)
could also be referable.
