Diagnosis. The forewing fasciae and discal spot are diffusely darker; the
lenticular marking on the dorsum is variably present in Sumatra (Kobes, 1997)
and appears to be a Sundanian peculiarity; the related Sulawesi endemic species
albimacula
Roepke has this feature more strongly developed, containing a white triangle.
Geographical range. Indian Subregion, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo,
Philippines, Sulawesi.
Habitat preference.
Three specimens have been taken in pristine and
selectively logged lowland forest near the Danum Valley Field Centre in Sabah.
