Calymera pollex
Kobes
Carea pollex Kobes, 1988, Heterocera Sumatrana,
2: 92.
Calymera
pollex Kobes; Kobes, 1997: 106.
Diagnosis. This species is like a smaller version of lukaschi but
slightly paler, the forewings more orange and lacking a dark shade to the more
rounded margin. The fasciae are irregular and there is a discal dot; the medial
area enclosed by the fasciae was likened by Kobes (1997) to an Easter Island
statue in shape. The submarginal is a sinuous row of dark dots.
Geographical range. Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference.
Only three Bornean specimens have been seen, two
from lowland dipterocarp forest at 150m at the Danum Valley Field Centre, Sabah,
and the other from Bidi in the lowlands of Sarawak.
