Parasinna Kobes
Type
species: diehli Kobes.
The only species in this
genus has a
striking forewing facies
and sexual dimorphism as described below. The forewing venation is atypical,
with both R2 and R5 arising independently from the cell. The male retinaculum is
lost as in Tyana.
The male abdomen has robust tymbal organs with three strong carinae on each side
as in Camptoloma but these are oblique in the opposite manner amid a very
different general structure. The apodemes of the eighth tergite are broad,
incurved as in some Careini. The male genitalia are extremely elongate, the
valves very long and narrow with strong hair-pencils basally and general
setation throughout on the exterior part. There is a conspicuous spine
internally on the valve at one-third. The uncus is slender, slightly sinuous as
in Sinna of the Ariolicini, where the valves are also somewhat similar.
The aedeagus is slender, the vesica having a single long cornutus.
The female has not been dissected.
The cocoon is described below.
