Diagnosis. The insect is generally dark brown but with a whitish head and
thorax and a striking pattern of white marks on the forewing that includes bars
on the dorsum at one-third and two-thirds, concave away from each other and with
paler brown in between; there is a similar but less regular set of marks
opposite on the costa.
Geographical range. Borneo, Sulawesi.
Habitat preference. The original specimen is from around 1300m on G. Murud.
Four were taken at 1780m on G. Mulu and one at about 1600m on G. Kinabalu,
probably most in the upper montane zone.
