Andraca apodecta Swinhoe

Diagnosis. The male is a deep rich brown, the darker fascia and discal
spot having pale grey scales associated with them. The female is larger,
paler, but similarly fasciated.
Geographical range. Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference. The species has only been taken on G. Kinabalu between
1000m and 1800m (lower to upper montane forest).
Biology.
In Sumatra the larva has been recorded as a defoliator of tea (Camellia;
Theaceae (Roepke, 1924)).
