Eupterote muluana sp. n.
56mm,
66mm.
Externally the male resembles that of asclepiades in colour and
fasciation, but
is somewhat darker with the medial pale zones relatively smaller and the
fasciate zone between them and the postmedial broader with extra fasciae (five
rather than four on the hindwing). The female has all except the medial and
basal zones and the submarginal dark brown, and there is a nacreous patch at the
forewing disc. The brown areas are darker than in asclepiades, thus contrasting
with the pale zones. The male genitalia have the interior process of the valve
broad, rather rounded, distally serrate. The aedeagus vesica is less extensively
scobinate than in asclepiades.
