Diagnosis.
This is the palest of the three Bornean species. The hindwing grades
darker towards the costa and there is a hint of a straight dark then pale
fascia on the hindwing postmedially, stronger centrally.
Taxonomic notes. The species is divided into a number of rather localised
subspecies, that from Borneo being ssp. borneensis Tams.
Geographical range. Sumatra; Borneo; Peninsular Malaysia; China; Taiwan.
Habitat preference. This is a predominantly montane species, taken in
lower and upper montane forest on G. Kinabalu, G. Mulu, G. Api, Bukit
Retak and Bukit Pagon. However, it has also been taken infrequently in
lowland forest in Brunei.
