Diagnosis. The insect is a uniform rich chestnut brown with no obvious
markings. The narrow, apically produced forewings and falcate, tornally
produced hindwings are distinctive.
Taxonomic notes. The externally similar Gastropacha minima
Lajonquière is
known from Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore. This has less
excavate hindwings on which there is a small white reticulated patch.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. Only the holotype male is known, taken at 2600m on G.
Kinabalu.
