The general coloration is a rufous brown rather than dark brown (kalisi), the forewing with strongly curved, double, crenulate, fine antemedial and postmedial fasciae in darker brown. The discal spot is diagnostically pale and there are pale grey markings on the margin near the apex of the forewing. The male genitalia are as described and distinguished from those of kalisi in the generic account. The right valve consists of two slender processes, the left of only one, equivalent to the lower one on the right.

Holotype BRUNEI: 15m, Daerah Belait, swamp forest, 20.12.79 (Lt. Col. M. G. Allen) BM lasiocampid slide 1062.

Melinau Gorge, 270m, 430558, FEG4 Limestone forest, understorey; 1 1female.gif (844 bytes) Sintang, BORNEO, inland of Pontianak, March 1910 (Dr Martin).

Geographical range. Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra.

Habitat preference. The species appears to be rare but present in a wide range of lowland forest types.
