21-24mm, larger than S. apicalis Walker. The facies is similar but
generally the brown ground colour is darker. The main differences are in the
male genitalia where the X-shaped transtilla structure is much larger, and there
is a band of very fine spines ringing the disc from the sacculus rather than two
eccentric, incomplete circles of small pegs.

Geographical
range. Borneo.
Habitat
preference. The
species is rare, specimens in the type series noted mainly from lowland forest
types, extending up to lower montane forest (on the limestone G. Api). The
highest record is from just under 2000m on C. Kinabalu (Holloway, 1976).
