12-14mm. The forewings are a roughened satiny white
with a faint, rounded, black discal spot. The frons, palps and upper half of the
foretibia are dark rufous brown. The male genitalia have a strong asymmetry, but
this does not appear to be homologous to that of phrika and allies (See
A phrika Collenette comb.n ), as the harpe on each side lies flat against the valve and has a
massively swollen base. That on the right is much larger than that on the left,
and both are acute apically. Both valves have a serrate fringe along the costal
margin that becomes more pronounced towards the apices.
Holotype . SARAWAK: Gunung Mulu Nat. Park, R.G.S. Exped. 1977-8 (J.D. Holloway
et al.) Site 14, February, Camp 2.5, Mulu, 1000m, 413461, lower
montane f., BM lymantriid slide 1602.
Paratypes: 1 (slide 1641) as holotype but Site 15; 1(slide 1607) general
data as holotype but Site 20, Mar.-Apr., W. Melinau Gorge, 150m, 422577, FEG 3,
kerangas.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. The few specimens are from lowland kerangas forest
and from lower montane forest.
