Arctornis asymmetricus sp. n.

Arctornis asymmetricus (holotype)

12-14mm. The forewings are a roughened satiny white with a faint, rounded, black discal spot. The frons, palps and upper half of the foretibia are dark rufous brown. The male genitalia have a strong asymmetry, but this does not appear to be homologous to that of phrika and allies (See A phrika Collenette comb.n ), as the harpe on each side lies flat against the valve and has a massively swollen base. That on the right is much larger than that on the left, and both are acute apically. Both valves have a serrate fringe along the costal margin that becomes more pronounced towards the apices.
