19mm. This species resembles perfecta but is
somewhat more diaphanous with only a scattering of broad scales on the wings,
slightly more concentrated in the discal area. There is no discal spot. The
frons is pale rufous in a broad bar just below the level of the antennae. The
palps are yellow that intensifies towards the apex. The male genitalia are
characterised particularly by a semicircular flap just distal to the saccular
pocket and set in from the ventral margin. The valves are rather tongue-like,
the harpe longer, evenly downcurved. The uncus apex is spear-like on a broader
triangular base.
Holotype SARAWAK: Gunung Mulu Nat. Park, R.G.S. Exped. 1977-8 (J.D. Holloway
et al.) Site 14, February, Camp 2.5, Mulu, 1000m, 413461, lower
montane forest, BM lymantriid slide 1562.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. The only specimen is from lower montane forest at
1000m.
