10mm. The wings are dull orange, the forewings with
typical Rhypotoses fasciae, though with black extending from the
postmedial to the margin. There is some black also distally on the hindwing
costal margin. The male genitalia are of the type with quadrilateral, lobed
valves and resemble those of strigifimbria most closely, though with a
broader, more digitate uncus and a more acutely produced valve apex. They are
relatively much smaller, and the facies is highly diagnostic.
Holotype SARAWAK: Gunung Mulu Nat. Park, R.G.S. Exped. 1977-8, G. Mulu,
1300m, 421459, moss forest, 24.2.1978 (H.S. Barlow), day flying, BM
lymantriid slide 2486.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. The species was taken flying by day at 1300m on G.
Mulu, at approximately the lower/upper montane forest boundary.
