17mm, 18-23mm. The dull orange-yellow and black facies is similar to
that of Nygmia sinuinigra but the build is less robust and the venation
and male genitalia typical of Rhypotoses. The fasciae of the forewing
follow the same course as in other Rhypotoses and are white-edged on the
medial side. The hindwing is diagnostically dark grey with a narrow
orange-yellow border. The male genitalia have quadrilateral, lobed valves
similar to those of brooksi but with a more evenly tapering uncus. The
female genitalia are also typical of the genus.

Barlow & J.D. Holloway); 1 (slide 1164) same general data as the
previous one but 12.viii.1965, also flying into wind by day. The last two
specimens are also paratypes of sinuinigra.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. All material is from montane forest.
