Diagnosis. This is the least sexually dimorphic species, with dull orange forewings
irrorated uniformly with blackish scales, and with a black discal dot and a
diagnostic black mark at the tornal angle. The hindwing is blackish, grading
dull orange narrowly at the margin. The uncus is relatively short in the male
genitalia.
Taxonomic note. The taxon nigrifascia Talbot, originally described as a
subspecies of calesia, is based on a form of Rhypotoses nigriplaga (See
Rhypotoses nigriplaga).
Geographical range. Borneo, Sumatra.
Habitat preference. The two specimens taken in recent surveys are from
lowland forest, one taken flying by day. The species is rare.
