8-9mm. Though distinctly smaller than waterstradti and slightly
darker, this species has similar facies. The male genitalia have the dorsal arm
of the valve broader, obtusely angled with the dorsal margin of the ventral arm
rather than acutely. The broad ventral arm is smaller, with its dorsal angle
acutely produced. The saccular flap is more square than semicircular.
Holotype BORNEO:
Sabah, Danum
Valley, 5º 01N, 117º 41E, 30.ix.1987, 150m (A.H. Kirk-Spriggs), Understorey
forest, BM lymantriid slide 2619.
Paratypes: 1 general data as holotype but 10.ix.1987, 100m, roadside in secondary
forest; 2 ,
B.N. BORNEO, Kretam, 25.x-8.xi.1950 and 21.xi.1950- i.1951 (J.D.H.
Hedley) BM 1950-497 and 1951-59 (slide 2754).
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. All specimens are from lowland forest, including
secondary forest.
