15mm. The forewings are pale yellow, irrorated finely
with medium reddish brown that is slightly more dense in a very diffuse
postmedial band. The hindwings are pale reddish fawn. The abdomen (Peninsular
Malaysian specimen) dorsally grades darker grey over the distal half, though the
apical tuft is fawn. The male genitalia are as distinctive as the facies
relative to Bornean congeners. The uncus is rectangular, longer than in dyssema,
though the whole genital capsule is relatively short. The valves are more
triangular than square, apically acute, with the saccular margin basally
strongly convex. The spines at the aedeagus apex are broad, blunt.
Holotype . MALAYSIA: Sabah, Danum Valley, 170m, 4° 58N, 117° 48E (S.J.
Willott), 1° Understorey, W9, West Trail, DVFC, 6.viii. 1994, BM lymantriid
slide 2652.
Geographical range. Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia (slide 2652).
Habitat preference. The only Bornean specimen is from lowland forest.
