Dasychira diplosticta Collenette;

Dasychira duo Schintlmeister, 1994: 128, syn. n.
Diagnosis. The forewings are a paler buff-brown than in other members of the Orgyia
complex, with an archipelago of darker brown patches basally and a faint
crenulate postmedial with one or two dark brown patches distal to where it
angles towards the costa subapically. Females are not known, possibly flightless
with vestigial wings.
Taxonomic note. No major differences could be located between Moluccan and Sundanian
material, hence duo is brought into synonymy with diplosticta. The
male genitalia have the ring-like sclerotisation surrounding the anal tube that
typifies Telochurus, and also the valves lack a dorsal arm.
Geographical range. S. Moluccas, Sulawesi, Borneo, Sumatra.
Habitat preference. This is a montane species, recorded at 1200m and
1620m on G. Kinabalu, and at 1465m on Bukit Retak and 1670m on Bukit Pagon in
Brunei.
