Diagnosis. Both this and the next species are distinctive ashy
grey moths, with a darker discal lunule and fasciation on the forewing. They are
difficult to distinguish, and identification is best confirmed by reference to
the male genitalia, as discussed under the next species.
Geographical range. Sumatra,
Borneo.
Habitat preference. Both
this and the next species are found in similar habitats, montane forests and
lowland acid soil forests. During the Mulu survey, cox was taken singly
at 250m and more frequently at 900m and 1200m on the limestone G. Api. In Brunei
it has been recorded frequently at 1465m and 1618m on Bukit Retak, and at 30m in
lowland forest at Labi and in greater frequency at 15m in dry heath forest at
Telisai. There is one specimen from 1200m on Mt Dulit, Sarawak.
