Diagnosis. See Neochera inops Walker.
Taxonomic notes. Genitalia differences mentioned in the
diagnosis of inops indicate that privata is a is distinct species.
Geographical range. Andamans,
Sundaland, Nias, Lesser Sundas to Timor.
Habitat preference. A single specimen from Pulo Laut is the only Bornean
record. The general distribution suggests this is a species that prefers
tropical habitats with a definite dry season.
