Diagnosis. This species is similar to groganae but lacks the dorsal black
streak on the thorax. It has a series of three pairs of black streaks
submarginally, centrally on the forewing. The antemedial consists of two black
spots at the dorsum and one at the costa; in groganae there is a small
one just posterior to the cell. Most of the forewing except the margins and the
veins has a distinctive rosy blush. The hindwing tornal black markings are weak
or absent.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. The species was described from a specimen taken at
2000m on G. Murud in Sarawak. Two specimens were taken at 1930m on G. Kinabalu
(Holloway, 1976) and two more at Marei Parei (1500m) and Lumu Lumu (1700m), also
on Kinabalu, by the earlier Pendlebury and Chasen Expedition in 1929. A series
was taken by J.Smart in 1964 on the Mesilau Plateau (1500m).
