Amata exapta

Diagnosis.
The black border at the apex of the forewing is greater than in the previous species, and there is a small basal lacuna in the black bar between veins M1 and M2. There is no yellow suffusion, basally or apically. The male genitalia have both valves broadly bifid distally, the right much broader than the left.

Taxonomic notes. The species is transferred to Amata as the male genitalia are typical of that genus. One male from Flores has the basal costal process of the right valve shorter than that of the left, conical, and the more distal costal process is also shorter, not extending beyond the valve apex. Otherwise specimens dissected from throughout the range have genitalia as illustrated.

Geographical range. Sumbawa, Flores, Lombok, Java, Pulo Laut.
