Eressa vespina Rothschild; Seitz, 1912-1913: 84.
Eressa
vespina
(holotype) |
Diagnosis. This species could be confused with a very small Amata decorata Walker,
but has the hindwing border narrow, even, without a tooth extending up the veins
traversing the transparent zone. There is no yellow tone to the base of the
wings.
Taxonomic notes. Material is limited to the holotype; the second specimen referred to in
the original description has not been located. Therefore, as no dissection has
been undertaken, the placement of the species in Eressa, though probably
unsatisfactory, must remain.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. The holotype was taken near Kuching, Sarawak.
