Both sexes resemble females of inconspicua,
except the postmedial is somewhat less clearly defined. The genitalia
indicate a relationship with inconspicua. The
males have rather broad valves with dorsally directed setae along the ventral
margin, but these are more robust in inconspicua and there is a subapical spur to the costal margin and
apical serration lacking in muluana, which
has a crest of inwardly directed scales on the apical zone. The aedeagus vesica
has fields of spines in inconspicua but
is immaculate in muluana. Both females
lack the large appendix bursae of crassa and
allies, but inconspicua has a broader
ostium and diagnostically large and corrugate structures on each side of it.

for., BM arctiid slide 2754.

Geographical
range. Borneo.
Habitat
preference. All
specimens are from lower montane forest at 1000m.
