9-12mm,
9-11mm. The forewings
are almost entirely obscured with dark grey, leaving three areas of pale grey
with semicircular to circular interior boundaries basally and at one-third on
each of the costa and dorsum. The characteristic submarginal fascia is usually
evident as a darker element in the more distal part of the dark grey. The male
genitalia place the species close to aequalis, but the uncus is distally
narrower, less hammer-like, but centrally constricted, with setae directed
laterally rather than dorsally. The tegumen shoulders are narrower, more
laterally produced, and the more ventral processes are also very narrow rather
than trapezoid with an irregularly serrate edge.
