Diagnosis. This
and the next species have a similar forewing pattern of arcuate grey markings on
yellow, with some iridescent elements. In Bornean subaurana the subcostal
grey arcuate zone that extends the length of the wing is broad, unbroken, though
this band is narrower in material from other localities. See diagnosis of the

Geographical range. Indo-Australian
tropics from the N.E. Himalaya and Hainan to the Bismarcks.
Habitat preference. The
species is uncommon in forests from the lowlands to the lower montane zone at
about 1000m.
