“Eilema” sp.
Two females (12mm) in USNM
taken at 1530m in the vicinity of Kundasang on the southern slopes of G.
Kinabalu, have venation typical of the Eilema complex. They are pale,
dull yellow, the forewings distinguished by an irregularly sized but more or
less transverse line of black flecks in the discal region. The genitalia have a
marked appendix bursae and two scobinate signa in the corpus bursae, bearing
some resemblance to those of E. griseola Hübner or Teulisna species
of the nebulosa group (see Teulisna
montanebula sp.n.).
