Diagnosis. See
the generic account, particularly with reference to the elliptical mark near the
centre of the forewing costa.
Taxonomic note. The
aberrant male specimen with a white abdomen noted from Sumatra by Hampson (1900)
and described as sumatrana by Draudt has not been located; it is probably
an Adites Moore species (see below).
Geographical range. Borneo,
Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia.
Habitat preference. This
is a lowland species, encountered in frequency up to 600m in coastal, heath and
dipterocarp forests, often where there has been disturbance and secondary
growth.
