Diagnosis and taxonomic
note. See the previous species.
The aedeagus vesica lacks the characteristic field of short, irregular spines
but has one very long, flexed one, together with a cluster of small ones around
its base. The valve has basal and distal saccular processes typical of the genus
but lacks the central costal one. Hampson (1900) included B. gloriosa Moore
stat. & comb. rev, as a synonym, but the male genitalia (slide 5273) are
very different.
Geographical range. Sundaland.
Habitat preference. The
species is uncommon, but found in forested localities from the coast to the
lower montane zone at 1000m.
