11-12mm.
Both this and the next species have narrower, more triangular hindwings with
more extensive black borders than polygrapha.
The anteriors of the double fasciae of the forewing are more obscured with
black suffusion, and the submarginal zone, rather than having a row of sagittate
marks just distal to the double postmedial, has this zone more obscured, but
with conspicuous patches of pure yellow ground colour. In trilacunata
there are three of these, the one at the tornus being diagnostic. The round
discal patch is similarly [?] more conspicuous, and the triangular patch
posterior to it. In the male genitalia the anellar structure has five to six
enlarged setae on each side, compared with the one or two in polygrapha.

Habitat
preference. This
is a rare lowland forest species.
